The Current-State Assessment
Objective Professional Insight

Do you have a clear understanding of the current state of your organization? Knowing the state of your current situation is the first step in improving performance. As consultants uniquely specialized in assessing and presenting a clear picture of organizations and departments, we can help. The current-state assessment can range from a limited diagnostic "check-up" to a more comprehensive root-cause assessment. The Crossroads Group offers four general types of assessments. These include:

The Organizational Assessment™: Ideal for organizations with fifty employees or less or which are "out-growing" their current organizational structure.

The Departmental Assessment™: Ideal for departments within an organization which are not meeting profitability, quality, or service objectives. The focus may be process or people performance or both.

The Symptomatic Assessment™: A unique approach which targets a particular area of organizational "pain" (e.g. poor quality, wait time, inefficiency, etc.).

The Growth Assessment™: Ideal for organizations which seek to enter new markets or achieve improved sales or marketing performance.

The Crossroads Group using a unique combination of observation, stakeholder interviews, research, and performance measurement analysis to provide an assessment report in either written or presentation format. Assessments generally require only two to three weeks to complete and the scope typically includes SWOT Analysis, PEST Analysis, process-flow analysis, performance measures, employee performance, internal service, cross-functional teamwork and communication, customer satisfaction, and industry research.

Areas assessed may include:

  • Strategy and Growth: Is there a clear strategic/tactical direction, leveraging internal competencies with external opportunities to grow?
  • Scorecard Measures: Is there a balanced (individual/departmental) scorecard measurement system allowing management to proactively monitor the right measures on a real-time basis?
  • Employee & Process Performance: Are employees performing and are processes optimized for effective delivery and execution of goals and objectives?
  • Teamwork: Are departments and related processes integrated and communicating across functional and departmental boundaries?
  • Service: Are the needs and expectations of internal and external customers being met? Is customer feedback being captured and utilized?

The key benefits of the assessment include a clearer picture of your current reality, the identification of specific opportunities for improvement, the review and/or establishment of strategic or tactical scorecard performance measures, and the development and presentation of specific actionable recommendations which will impact baseline measures.

All assessment services are provided under strict confidentiality provisions, provided tactfully with staff, and are provided with no obligation to contract for future services.
